not into the whole talking business? i don’t blame you. do your socialising here instead. someone jinxed the system so all the students have each other on their contacts list, and no-one’s been able to reverse it yet.

oh internet, how we adore thee. now they’re allowed laptops, the students here are being slowly brainwashed by the biggest networking site around.

that’s right, the infamous rita skeeter’s daughter is here and ready to crack this school wide open. with monthly issues of her gossip column free to every hogwarts student, there’s no excuse not to know everything about everyone. make sure to post here as a guest if you’re starting a rumour.

bigger than all the other common rooms, this recent addition to the school is a place for members of all houses to congregate. the only dorm here is for the head boy and girl.

come here for feasts at breakfast, lunch and dinner. the ceiling’s bewitched to replicate the sky outside and four massive house banners hang over each table. this room’s also used for exams, dances and other events.

lock a bunch of teenagers with wands up together and someone’s bound to get hurt. our nurse can fix anything from cracked skulls to colds. regrowing bones is hard, though. just a tip.

need a map? an owl? a place to practise? the room of requirement can be anything you want. crabbe’s fiendfyre didn’t destroy it, but it created a glitch. when someone’s inside, the door is visible until they leave again.

the hogwarts library is massive, stocked with thousands of books on every subject you can imagine. but don’t let the librarian catch you in the restricted section without a note and, for god’s sake, keep it down!

feeling homesick? send letters to your friends and family with the school owls. you can also visit your pet owl, if you have one.

the corridors are the best place in the school for gossip, wandering around and running like hell from pissed teachers.

classes don’t run all the time, so there’s bound to be some classrooms left empty. students aren’t technically allowed inside, but since when did anyone give a crap about the rules?

when you gotta go, you gotta go. just make sure moaning myrtle isn’t watching.

damp, dark and labyrinthine, the dungeons sprawl out underneath the school and lake. only the bravest dare venture further than the potions classrooms and slytherin common room.

the only all-wizard town in britain. students in their third year and above are allowed down here on certain weekends, but most people just wander down whenever they feel like it.

because who doesn’t love flying fifty feet in the air at a hundred miles an hour with only a small stick of wood to keep you from falling to your death?

yeah, it’s technically out of bounds, but who cares? just be careful, especially at night – it’s forbidden for a reason.

who doesn’t love the lake? swimming and sunbathing in summer, ice-skating in winter, throwing parties on the banks and drowning people you hate all year round. if you’re lucky, you might even get to say hello to the giant squid.

a great place to get some peace and quiet. the courtyard has benches, flowerbeds and a giant fountain in the middle.

this is one very grumpy tree. only the brave and the totally insane go near it. try and touch the trunk, i dare you.

hagrid hasn’t lived on the hogwarts grounds for years, but his hut’s still there. it’s a good place to get some alone time. there’s a piano, fireplace, kettle and a few mouldy rock cakes in the cupboard.

what did you do today? what’s your favourite song? how long is your little toe? this is the place to kick back, relax and talk about anything you feel like.

think of this board as the greener grass on the other side, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, the holiday you wish you were on, the… oh, you get the idea.
